I started bowling in 1964 at the Savoy Bowl in Blackpool after watching bowling matches on ITV's World Of Sport and have been actively involved with bowling ever since. I quickly became competitive, playing for Lancashire, and have the distinction of being one of only 4 Lancastrians to represent England at full international level, I also competed on the US Pro Tour in the 1970's, where I first learned ball drilling skills and advanced bowling techniques. Over the years, I have travelled extensively, winning tournaments around the World, and bowling 33 perfect games en route.
I have owned Steve's Pro Shop for 30 years and before that was a director of Premier Bowl in Blackpool, I think it is fair to say that I have extensive knowledge and experience of the game, being called on to commentate on televised tournaments such as The Weber Cup from time to time. I have also been Chairman of Lancashire's bowling association and still enjoy competing and playing tournaments occasionally. The most rewarding thing though is seeing the smile on the face of someone I have just drilled a ball for who has enjoyed bowling a high score!
